Ardbeg 10 Year
Open the bottle, and people in the next room with think that there is a fire in the house. So much smoke, but interestingly balanced with spice and other flavors. Probably my favorite Islay to introduce people to the region. Other scotches may be smokier, or easier to drink, but this one has great balance for a reasonably priced single malt.
One of the best things about this entry level scotch is that it is a solid 46% alcohol by volume. This means that it is not as watered down as many comparable scotches, enabling it to hold on to a more powerful flavor profile.
