Edradour Ballachin 10 Year

Hailing from the smallest distillery in scotland, this is a unique seated highland single malt aged in bourbon and sherry barrels. On the nose there is smoke and spice, but things get really interesting once you take a sip. On the tongue there is no smoke flavor at all, its purely spice; the smoke just disappears. As soon as you swallow (it does’t matter how long you let it coat your mouth, this always happen as you swallow), there is smoke that hits you like an unexpected punch in the face, and then vanishes again and lingers with the spice flavors.

Very different from other scotches, worth a try, and not always that easy to find.
