The Glenlivet French Oak Reserve 15 year
Speyside is a region of the Scottish highlands, and at some point, the whisky coming out of this area began to take on its own characteristics. Sweet and smooth typifies the Speyside scotches, and this one falls directly in that vein. Buttery notes really come through here as well. Another good scotch if you prefer your whisky on the sweeter side, or if you are just getting your feet wet with scotch. The price is reasonable here though, which is compelling, and “French Oak Reserve” just sounds so fancy.
